This is a great story! It has an exciting concept with two wonderful main characters. Jim Ironheart is the hero of the story, he has visions of people in trouble and strives to save them before their fate is sealed. Holly Thorne is a reporter who is intrigued by Jim and sets out to join him (I love their face-off at his house). The two set off together to uncover what exactly is sending him these visions and what is the underlying evil behind them.

The whole novel is well rounded and keeps you interested throughout the story. Parts of the story are very emotional and you can’t help but feel sorry for Jim as his story unfolds. The book covers mystical and psychological subjects which will please Classic Koontz lovers and new Koontz lovers alike. I definitely recommend this book to all Koontz lovers.

This is one freaky tale! What an original story this is, it shows you just how creative Koontz really is. The main characters are a married couple who run a detective agency with the ultimate dream of buying a nice house where they can bring Julie’s (the wife) brother with down’s syndrome home. Business is going well until a man comes in who has had many things wrong with him, amongst those things are him waking up with blood on himself and unaccounted for bundles of cash. There is a family tree involved that would make the ‘Flowers in the Attic’ crew blush.

You really have to read this book. It is one of Koontz’s best. You will be hard pressed to find a more original and well written book, Koontz or non. I would recommend this novel to anyone. Parts of it are a bit disturbing, but the overall tale is worth it.

This is one of my favorite Koontz books. It is one of the most creative, original stories I have ever read. It deals with love, loss, fighting, moral standards, time travel, and so much more -Yes, I said time travel. Koontz pulls off the subject of time travel without making it seem unbelievable or trite. He even manages to work in certain figures and events that none of us can forget, though most of us were not alive for (if you have read it, you what I’m talking about).

The characters were great. It was easy to love the heroes and hate the villains in this novel. The main character, Laura develops throughout the story. We live through her hardships (which will leave tears in your eyes many times), her humor, and her love (who wouldn’t like to have a man like Danny). We get to meet her child, Chris who is a typical Koontz kid that makes you wish all children could be like him. Then there is Stefen, the time traveler who you can’t help but root for throughout the story even before you learn his motives.

This book is different from most Koontz stories, but does not lack his identifiable touch. Whether you are an avid Koontz reader or merely dabble, you should read this tale.
